You Don’t Need to Perform Power. Simply Exercise It.

The Pleasure of Building a Life That’s Your Own

There’s a tremendous amount of enjoyment in the energy this week, but there’s absolutely nothing frivolous about what’s happening.

You’ve spent the past several weeks examining the mechanics of personal power, and suddenly you’re seeing what life looks like when that power becomes a natural state of being.

The fight has been put down. The decisions have been made. The territory has been established.

And now you get to enjoy living in it.

But there’s more going on here than that.

When You’re No Longer Defending Yourself, You Have Room to Be Curious

There’s something wonderful about the quality of experience you associate with youth, when everything is worth investigating, everything has possibilities, and there’s excitement in discovering what you haven’t experienced before.

It’s about approaching life with curiosity, openness and enthusiasm.

And there’s a significant energetic relationship here.

When you’re constantly managing friction, conflict, expectations and other people’s demands, a considerable amount of your energy is occupied.

Once that energy becomes available again, curiosity has room to flourish.

You start noticing opportunities, considering possibilities, making connections and entertaining ideas that you might previously have dismissed because you simply didn’t have the appetite for them.

You haven’t necessarily become a different person. You’ve become available to more of life.

And that fits beautifully with the evolution of the past several weeks.

You’re Changing the Conditions That Influence Your Fortune

Life has always contained an unpredictable element. Fortunes rise and fall. Circumstances change. The Wheel of Fortune turns.

But there’s something significant happening in your relationship with your own fortune.

You may not control the entire wheel, but you have considerably more influence over what turns it than you previously realised.

Think about everything we’ve explored recently.

Conflict consumes energy. Competence develops independence. Self-governance gives you authority over your own decisions.

Those were the three expressions of personal power we explored in the last forecast (Three Expressions of Personal Power).

Now you’re seeing their cumulative effect.

When you stop participating in unnecessary battles, withdraw your investment from situations that continually drain you, and take responsibility for your own territory, you change the conditions under which your life operates.

You reduce the number of outside influences that can interfere with your direction.

And here’s something particularly worth considering. Things are beginning to move with speed, even if you can’t see it.

The absence of drama can disguise how much progress you’re making.

You’re so accustomed to measuring change through visible events, upheavals, breakthroughs and big announcements that you can overlook the tremendous amount of progress occurring when things are simply working.

The wheel is turning. The foundations are being laid. Decisions are becoming actions.

There’s an immense difference between struggling to change your fortune and living in a way that continually improves it.

And this is a wonderful week for continuing to lay the foundations of the personal empire you’re building.

Your World Begins to Reflect the Person You’ve Become

The people you’ve always wanted around you may have been there all along. You simply weren’t transmitting on the same frequency to be able to receive them in your physical presence.

Your energetic relationships with people aren’t determined exclusively by the people themselves. They’re also influenced by what you’re willing to participate in, tolerate, encourage and reciprocate.

When those things change, your relationships with the world change.

Your social world begins to reflect the personal authority you’ve been developing.

There is community, friendship, companionship, celebration and shared enjoyment.

And one of the beautiful things about coming into your own authority is that it doesn’t have to leave you isolated from other people.

Personal authority doesn’t have to produce distance. It can improve the quality of your connections.

When you know who you are, and you’re comfortable exercising authority over your own life, your energetic transmission into the world becomes far more consistent.

You’ve stopped feeding the fights, the friction and the distractions. You’ve decided who and what receives your energy. Which changes the frequency you’re transmitting, along with the people and experiences that resonate with it.

It doesn’t mean everything becomes easy. There will always be things to learn, challenges to encounter and experiences to navigate. But the quality of your interactions can change considerably.

One of the most significant things to understand is that the connections you’ve been looking for may have been available to you all along. You didn’t necessarily need to find something you were missing. But your habit of getting drawn into arguments, defending yourself and justifying your choices was getting in the way.

Remember those earlier forecasts?

The Dust Will Settle When You Stop Kicking It Up.

Put the Fight Down. Pick Your Life Back Up.

Sometimes you gain more by letting something go than by acquiring something new. As we explored in Less has become more, ‘Some things improve the moment you stop overfunding them.’

Your Personal Empire Is Yours to Define

When you hear the word empire, you might imagine enormous wealth, commercial success, influence and status.

But your personal empire doesn’t have to resemble any of those things.

Your empire is whatever you’ve deliberately built, take responsibility for and exercise authority over.

It might be a business. A home. A creative practice. A particular way of living. A professional reputation. A life organised around what matters to you.

You don’t have to become a billionaire or build a global corporation.

Your empire might simply be work that you love, a business that takes excellent care of you, or a way of living that allows you to thrive.

The scale is irrelevant. What matters is that you’ve built something that belongs to you and that you’re capable of governing. That brings us back to something we explored in the previous forecast Three Expressions of Personal Power.

An Emperor doesn’t need everybody’s agreement to govern his territory.

But there’s an evolution this week.

Last week, you were considering what it meant to exercise that authority.

This week, you’re seeing what happens once that authority becomes familiar.

You stop having to remind yourself that you’re in charge. You simply get on with being in charge.

Personal power becomes like a beautifully tailored suit, and you’re wearing it well.

Ambition Has a Feminine Expression of Its Own

There’s a wonderful relationship between authority and ambition in this week’s energy.

One aspect of your personal power knows how to build, organise, establish and govern. Another knows how to create, attract, inspire and act from intuitive authority.

Both are comfortable with power. Both are ambitious. Neither needs permission.

But there’s something particularly important about how you’re beginning to express that ambition.

Ambition doesn’t have to be aggressive to be effective.

You can be warm, playful, curious, sociable and thoroughly enjoy yourself while building something extraordinary.

You can be intuitive and commercially astute. You can be gracious without surrendering authority. And you can be extraordinarily ambitious without making ambition your entire personality.

Think about the kind of ambition that became fashionable in the 1980s. The power suits, the boardrooms, the aggressive negotiations and the idea that success belonged to whoever could dominate the room.

Just because you’ve been shown certain ways of expressing power doesn’t mean you have to adopt them as your own. You’re allowed to be yourself.

You can be perfectly capable of building your empire in high heels, barefoot or wearing your gardening gloves. And you’re likely to enjoy yourself while you’re doing it.

You can trust your intuition, know who you are, have a plan for where you’re going and feel completely comfortable pursuing it.

You don’t have to make a great performance of your power.

You can simply exercise it.

And the wonderful thing about this combination of personal authority and intuitive ambition is that it leaves room for enjoyment.

You don’t have to sacrifice your curiosity, your humour, your friendships or your enthusiasm for life in order to accomplish something meaningful.

The Bigger Picture: Enjoyment, Ambition and Personal Power

There’s a beautiful progression taking place.

You’re exploring life with a renewed sense of curiosity and enjoyment.

Your fortunes are changing.

Your relationships with the world are improving.

And beneath all of it sits the personal authority and confidence you’ve been developing.

You can approach life with the enthusiasm of someone discovering it for the first time while possessing the self-knowledge and authority of someone who has lived long enough to know exactly who she is.

There’s no contradiction.

In fact, perhaps that’s one of the great rewards of maturity.

You get to rediscover the excitement of living, without surrendering the wisdom you’ve gained along the way.

For several weeks, you’ve been concerned with reclaiming personal power, changing patterns, ending conflict and making decisions.

And now you’re beginning to experience what all that work has made possible.

What if the whole point of reclaiming your power was that you could finally get back to enjoying your life?

And what if the ambition that’s emerging now is being fuelled by enjoyment rather than struggle?

Because that would be a very different way of building an empire.

✨ Guidance for the Week

Enjoy the life you’re building.

You have spent considerable time learning where your energy is best invested, which battles aren’t worth fighting, and how to exercise authority over your own decisions. Now give yourself permission to enjoy the benefits of those choices.

Be curious. Explore new ideas. Follow opportunities that excite you. Make time for the people whose company you genuinely enjoy, and remain open to meeting others who share your interests and outlook.

Continue building your personal empire, whatever that means to you. Every decision, every practical step and every bit of work you put into it contributes to the life you’re creating.

And don’t underestimate the progress you’re making simply because things feel easier.

You can be ambitious, capable and completely in charge of your own life while thoroughly enjoying yourself.

There’s no requirement to make it harder than it needs to be.

🌿 Life Area Breakdown

❤️ Relationships

As you become more comfortable with who you are and how you choose to live, the quality of your relationships begins to change. You’re becoming less interested in defending your choices, explaining yourself or participating in disagreements that achieve very little. That leaves more time and energy for friendship, companionship and the simple pleasure of enjoying other people’s company.

You may also notice yourself connecting with people who share your interests, values and outlook on life. Your energetic transmission has changed because you’ve changed what you’re willing to participate in. Pay attention to the people you naturally gravitate towards this week. There’s a lovely opportunity for new friendships, renewed connections and a little more fun in your social world.

💼 Work & Purpose

This is a wonderful week for building your personal empire, whatever form that takes. Your ambition may be growing, but so is your confidence in your ability to make decisions, organise your priorities and follow through on your plans. You’re becoming increasingly comfortable doing things your own way, without continually looking around to see how everybody else is doing theirs.

There’s also the possibility of making more progress than you realise. With fewer distractions and less energy invested in managing unnecessary friction, you can devote considerably more attention to what you’re building. Follow the ideas that excite you, trust your experience and continue putting those foundations in place. You can be thoroughly ambitious and still enjoy the work.

💰 Money & Resources

Your relationship with money and resources benefits from the same principles of personal authority we’ve been exploring. Consider how much of what you earn, own and have available to you is influenced by decisions made out of obligation, habit or other people’s expectations. Taking greater responsibility for these choices gives you more influence over how your resources are used.

This is a good week to consider what you’re building towards financially and whether your current investments of time, money and energy support those ambitions. You may find opportunities to improve your circumstances through better organisation, more deliberate decisions or simply withdrawing resources from things that no longer serve a worthwhile purpose. Remember, improving your fortunes doesn’t always require earning or acquiring more. Sometimes it begins with making better use of what you already have.

🧠 Personal Growth

One of the loveliest developments this week is the opportunity to experience curiosity and confidence together. You can be open to new experiences, explore unfamiliar territory and enjoy learning without questioning your ability to handle whatever you encounter. Your experience and self-knowledge aren’t going anywhere simply because you’ve decided to have a little fun.

There’s also something worth appreciating about how naturally you’re beginning to exercise personal authority. Decisions that once required considerable thought, justification or courage may now feel perfectly ordinary. That’s a significant change. Take a moment to appreciate the patterns you’ve changed and the influence they’re having on your daily life. The evidence is in how you’re living, the decisions you’re making and the quality of the life you’re creating.

And perhaps the greatest benefit of all is that you’ve got more time and energy to actually enjoy it.

⚡ Three Micro Moves for Momentum

There’s more to ambition than getting things done. Remember to enjoy what you’re building.

1. Do Something Just Because You Fancy It

Not everything needs to be productive, profitable or part of a bigger plan. Visit somewhere you’ve never been, indulge an interest or do something purely for the pleasure of it. Give yourself something to look forward to that has absolutely nothing to do with achievement.

2. Make Room for Good Company

Reconnect with someone whose company you genuinely enjoy, accept a social invitation or put yourself somewhere you might meet people who share your interests. A change in the quality of your relationships often begins with changing where and with whom you spend your time.

3. Enjoy Something You’ve Already Achieved

Before rushing towards the next goal, spend some time enjoying something you’ve already created. It might be your home, your business, your garden or simply the freedom to spend an afternoon however you please. You’ve put time and effort into making these things possible. Make sure you’re actually getting the pleasure of having them.

🪞 A Moment of Reflection

Take a moment to look at the life you’re living today.

Think about the person you were a year ago. The things that occupied your thoughts, the situations you found yourself involved in, the decisions you struggled with and the things you wanted to change.

Now consider who you’ve become in the meantime.

What has changed about the way you respond to people, make decisions and spend your energy? What have you stopped participating in? And what has become possible because of those changes?

If your life is a reflection of who you’re becoming, what is it showing you about yourself today?
